FBI Raided Anonymous Spokesman Barrett Brown's Apartment

FBI Raided Anonymous Spokesman Barrett Brown's Apartment

The Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the apartment of Barrett Brown, the unofficial “spokesperson” for the hacker collective Anonymous. The warrants allowed the Feds to search for records relating to Anonymous, LulzSec, HBGary, Infragard, Endgame Systems, IRC chats, Twitter, Brown’s website Echelon2.org and and Pastebin records, amongst other things. Basically, anything on any data-storing device owned by Brown. In a pastebin note Brown himself posted this thing.
Brown, of course, is not a hacker, but as a visible proponent of Anonymous, he’s an easy target for the Feds. In his Pastebin statement, however, Brown hit back at the federal government, independent security firms and big business in very interesting way—he brought up the corporate-government anti-hacking axis Team Themis. For anyone well-versed in the Greek pantheon of gods, you will remember Themis is the female goddess of law, justice and social control. It’s not for nothing that Team Themis would choose the goddess’s name for their vigilante form of justice, by which private entities—security firms and businesses—have launched an extra-judicial campaign against their enemies.
According to Brown's note - "With the assistance of the law firm Hunton & Williams, [Team Themis] went about collecting potential clients, including two institutions which desired to go on the offensive against certain activist groups. One of these institutions, the Chamber of Commerce, provided them with the names of various individuals believed to be involved with groups that opposed their policies, and asked them to come up with a plan by which to discredit them." Full statement of Brown can be found here.
We would also like to give you reminder that the last operation of FBI was the arrest of Higinio O. Ochoa III, a member of Anon affiliated 'CabinCr3w'.

Anonymous Member John Anthony Borell Charged For Hacking into Utah Police & Salt Lake City Police Dept

Anonymous Member John Anthony Borell Charged For Hacking into Utah Police & Salt Lake City Police Dept

FBI successfully tracked the #OpPiggyBank of Anonymous where two hackers from Anonymous named CabinCr3w & ItsKahuna took responsibility of hacking into the database of the Salt Lake City PD and exposed confidential information such as Full name of the Employ, Address, Phone Number, email-id, password hash and so on. According to a report of Huffington Post - An Ohio man linked to the hacker collective "Anonymous" pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of breaching the websites of the Utah Chiefs of Police Association and the Salt Lake City Police Department. John Anthony Borell III took credit for the attacks on Twitter, said FBI officials, who subpoenaed the direct messages the suspect traded with Salt Lake City reporters. The FBI traced Borell's Twitter account to a workplace computer.
"That didn't hurt the investigation, of course, when people make comments like that," FBI agent David Johnson said Monday. Borell appeared with a public defender at federal court in Salt Lake City after being released from a halfway house for the appearance. He faces 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted on two counts of computer intrusion, prosecutors said. FBI agents say they don't know what motivated an Ohio man to tamper with the Utah police websites in January. Prosecutors say Borell intruded on the chiefs' website server Jan. 19, then broke into the police department's website Jan. 31. Salt Lake City police spent $33,000 to repair damage to their website and shore up security, and the hacker was able to access citizen's supposedly confidential crime tips and even some personal information on police officers, Johnson said. Borell was recently arrested after Federal Bureau of Investigations agents found him using Twitter and Internet Relay Chat logs. The investigation was spurred by two tips sent in to tips.fbi.gov and ic3.gov that stated Borell was a member of hacking collective Anonymous. It also provided a number of pseudonyms he was associated with including Kahuna, TehTiger, and anonJB.
The indictment states that Borell used the SQL Injection technique to access and take down the websites utahchiefs.org and slcpd.com (Salt Lake City Police Department). The FBI found Twitter direct messages and tweets in which Borell admitted to taking down the websites. Further proof of his identity was found when the FBI looked through chat logs in IRC. There, Borell explained that his father was an attorney and was advising him against talking to the FBI. Agents searched Ohio-based attorneys and found two local attorneys named “John Anthony Borell Esq.”
We would also like to give you reminder that another member of Anonymous affiliated CabinCr3w named Higinio O. Ochoa III, also get busted after he posted girlfriend's breast photo.

FBI Arrested Anonymous Hacker After Posting Girlfriend's Abusive Photo

FBI Arrested Anonymous Hacker After Posting Girlfriend's Abusive Photo
FBI arrested  a 30-year-old computer programmer from Galveston named Higinio O. Ochoa III, who is widely known as @AnonW0rmer. He was active member of Anonymous affiliated 'CabinCr3w' He made a mistake that probably makes his fellow hackers cringe at the stupidity of it. Taunting law enforcement, he posted a photo of his girlfriend from the neck down, breasts pushed up with a sign taped to her saying ''PwNd by w0rmer & CabinCr3w <3 u B****'s!'
Trouble is, the photo was taken with an iPhone...with GPS co-ordinates embedded in the photo. The FBI said it confirmed the identity of Ochoa, who calls himself 'w0rmer' online and is a member of 'CabinCr3w', an offshoot of hacking group Anonymous. GPS co-ordinates embedded in the photo - as are found in all pictures taken by a smartphone - showed authorities the exact street and house in Wantirna South, Melbourne where it was taken. Different tweets from @Anonw0rmer pointed to other sites referring to 'w0rmer', including one which had Ochoa's name with it and more pictures of his girlfriend. Authorities then found Ochoa's Facebook page, on which he named Kylie Gardner from Australia as his girlfriend. The FBI was then satisfied she was the woman in the photo taken in South Wantirna. Even though the breasts photo does not show the woman's face, the FBI is convinced it is the same woman. They add it is definitive proof that Ochoa is w0rmer.
In a post allegedly written by Ochoa on Pastebin, he said 'around 8 agents from the FBI stormed my apartment'. He was taken to an FBI office in Houston where he paid a $50,000 bail. Ochoa appeared in court on April 10 before a magistrate, where the photograph evidence above was revealed in the FBI's affidavit. It comes a month after former Lulzsec leader and Anonymous member Sabu was revealed as an FBI informant. But in the Pastebin post, Ochoa claimed he was not guilty of the same betrayal.
He wrote: 'I did tell FBI that I would participate in the capture of my fellow crew mates, a play which undoubtfully both satisfied and confused the FBI. Those however who know me best would vouch for me undoutfully that doing so would put this movement at risk. ALL information provided to the FBI merely made MY case weaker and caused internal confusion showing the inherent weakness in the system.'

Salt Lake City Police Dept. Hacked By Anonymous (#OpPiggyBank)
Hacktivist Anonymous take responsibility for hacking into Salt Lake City Police official website. Two hackers from Anonymous named CabinCr3w & ItsKahuna was behind this hack. The hackers hacked into the database of the Salt Lake City PD and exposed confidential information such as Full name of the Employ, Address, Phone Number, email-id, password hash and so on. All the exposed information can be found on a pastebin release. After this security breach the site was kept down for maintenance as shown in the picture below.
According to a news release from police, the hacker group says the attack is a response to an anti-graffiti paraphernalia bill being sponsored by state Sen. Karen Mayne, D-West Valley City. Currently, the bill in its amended state, prohibits any person to possess any instrument, tool or device with the intent of vandalizing an area with graffiti. Offenders would be guilty of a class C misdemeanor. Depending on the extent of the vandalism, the crime could be boosted to a felony.

                           @CabinCr3w & @ItsKahuna
 =================================================
Dear Salt Lake City Police Department,

We took note http://fur.ly/0/MaynePlot that Senator Karen Mayne has put forth a bill SB107 - http://fur.ly/0/MaynePlotBill that tries to resolve an inconvenience with a flamethrower. Regardless whether the messages spray painted are disturbing, this bill sets an attitude that will down the line lead to invasions of privacy in people's homes and raids at 6 am over spray paint. We know that law enforcement functions as a mindless machine led by InfraGard, PERF, and other domestic civil intelligence (so marches the security state) networks. We know there's money to be made in the "just doing my job" compartmentalized economy. Therefore we know that regardless of the intent of Karen Mayne's haphazard lawmaking, this will end in corporations selling miniature drones to police offers chasing 13 year olds. We will act now as we have seen other "well-meaning" legislation open the door to tyranny and financing of oppression. There is no denying where this will end in 3 to 5 years or perhaps sooner.

Has your Senator Karen Mayne watched Minority Report too many times? A law prohibiting ownership and use of purchased products based on suspected intent? Is she kidding? The purpose of the law is not to prevent crime, but to manage it. The public gets the benefit of the doubt. A little too zealous wethinks. Perhaps a little pre-emptive action will drive the point home. As the foot soldiers for this bill, you get a taste of Mayne's witch hunt mentality. There are plenty of means to prosecute defacement of both private and public property in a general way. There's also the fact that some of this behavior may fall under civil rather criminal context.

A felony has a serious effect on a person's liberties after serving sentences, including loss of second amendment rights. And is this really the way to handle it? Perhaps Karen Mayne should be looking into why your neighborhoods are drawing this kind of behavior? Not acknowledging grievances and social issues such as poverty can lead to communities forming their own identities separate from their leaders. If all the senator has to offer is a policy that will lead to a self-righteous escalation of enforcement, consider this our deterrent.

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Officers Personal Info Leaked By CabinCr3w & Anonymous

A hacker group named CabinCr3w with Anonymous took responsibility of leaking the Personal information of more than 40 officers of Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). According to CabinCr3w "For the irresponsible posting of a crime scene photo, laughing at protesters while they were being arrested at #OccupyLA Raid, and being part of the LAPD/FBI. While you can operate in “grey” areas, so can we. Enjoy"

In a tweet CabinCr3w said:-
"LAPD Command Staff d0x:

Later the link was removed for violenceThe information on the LAPD brass was put on the site "Sticky Paste," a copy and paste sharing site anyone can post onto without an account. The site owner, Eric, who declined to give his full name, created the site less than a year ago and said he did not know anything about CabinCr3w.

The group said their actions were a response to the LAPD raid on the Occupy LA encampment and their treatment of protesters. "It all comes from those [LAPD] actions, and how the protesters are now being treated like criminals for practicing a fundamental right," a member of CabinCr3w wrote to KPCC in an online chatroom. Smith said the majority of those listed on site were not involved in clearing the Occupy LA encampment and a few have been retired.
"They're private citizens trying to live their lives in peace after serving 30 years," Smith said. "Now somebody throws all their personal information into the public forum. Most of those people were not involved in the Occupy LA clearing...They just got ahold of random police officers, and some random civilians who had nothing to do with that."
At 8 a.m. Thursday the group sent out a tweet saying: "Now that we have the attention of the #LAPD maybe u should look into ways to treat protesters better, WE are humans not garbage."
Smith said the department had worked hard to give protesters ample notice and avoid arresting people. "There's always going to be one or two people who are upset about something," Smith said. "But gosh, we gave everybody a chance to disperse. We begged people to clear the Occupy area so we didn't have to arrest anybody."

Goldman CEO's Personal Data Leaked By CabinCr3w

Hackers today released personal information for Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein. The document, posted on Pastebin, (though that post has been removed) includes the CEO's age, recent addresses, details of litigation he has been involved in, as well as registration information for businesses, but no sensitive information such as financial data.
Goldman Sachs representatives did not immediately respond to a call seeking comment. A group using the handle "CabinCr3w" took credit for the data dump, but did not say why Blankfein was targeted. Goldman Sachs benefited from the U.S. government's bailout of insurance giant American International Group and is accused of practices that contributed to the economic crisis.
Previously CabinCr3w also released the information of New-York police officer.
