Israel Hit By Demolishing Cyber Attack From Anonymous Caused $3 Billion Damage (#OpIsrael)

VOGH Exclusive: Israel Hit By Demolishing Cyber Attack From Anonymous Caused $3 Billion Damage (#OpIsrael)

The past 7th April will be unforgettable for Israeli cyber space, yes it was no doubt the black day for Israel, when the World's largest hacker group "Anonymous" with help of several other hackers communities caused ruin while bringing down almost all the Israeli Government websites, along with more that 100,000 other important Israeli websites, 40,000 Facebook pages, 5,000 Twitter accounts and 30,000 bank accounts belonging to Israeli people. The hacker group not only demolished the cyber space of Israel, but also caused a loss of 3 billion USD. This never forgettable hacking rampage dubbed Operation Israel became the most devastating and venturesome hacking rampage ever happened to the Israeli cyber space. In the last week of March, it was dangerous hacker collective group Anonymous who called the operation widely known as #OpIsrael, where the hacker group vows to erase Israel from the Internet. And indeed the hacker group did that, According to several Israeli source, leading media outlets it has been confirmed that almost all the important sites owned by the Government of Israel have been  either hacked and paralyzed. These sites include the site of the Israeli Police, Israeli Prime Minister, Bureau of StatisticsIsraeli intelligence agency Mossad, Stock Market and the Israel Ministry of Defense and many more. Regardless of the amount of damage done, the scale of the attack is bound to be embarrassing for the Israeli government. This is the second time that Anonymous has successfully taken down Israeli government websites. The first #OpIsrael attack happened last November and affected Israeli cyber fence heavily. Like the last November, this time also the reaction of Israel Government was indifferent and unconcerned. Despite of what Anonymous's claims of massive damage to Israel, the country's cyber security officials say that the attack caused minimal damage. "So far it is as was expected, there is hardly any real damage," Yitzhak Ben Yisrael from the government's National Cyber Bureau told the press. "Anonymous doesn't have the skills to damage the country's vital infrastructure. And if that was its intention, then it wouldn't have announced the attack ahead of time. It wants to create noise in the media about issues that are close to its heart." This is more or less what Anonymous always does, often with varying levels of success.

We did not engage the Malaysian hackers who invaded our cyberspace since we expected you to appropriately and judiciously act on the same, but you failed us.
“You did nothing while our fellow brothers are being butchered by the Malaysian forces, and while our women and children become subject of human rights abuses. If you can’t act on the issue as the Philippine President, at least do something as a fellow Filipino. We are watching.”

The attack took place couple of days ago, where this Pakistani hackers community have gained access into the server where shahrukh.com was hosted and thus the defaced the index page. After the matter get spotted, the webmaster took action and recovered the website. But the hacker did not forget to create a deface mirror on Zone-H, to justify the hack. Though such kind of cyber attack against Bollywood celebrities is a very normal phenomenon, infarct earlier we have seen the official website of Shahrukh Khan's movie named 'Ra.One' Also the twitter account of srk once became the hot target of hackers. If we define the nature of the attack, then we must have to say no such big object or cause driven the hackers, so the main purpose of engaging the hack can be defined as fun purpose. While talking about relation between hackers and Bollywood we would like to remind you that earlier we have seen several instances where celebrities like Mahesh Bhatt, Kangna Ranaut, Mallika SherawatArbaaz Khan, Vishal and Shekhar and so on have fallen victim to cyber criminals

Yamaha Motor's Official Website of Six Different Countries Hacked By Dark Snipper

Yamaha, Japanese multinational corporation; widely known to us for manufacturing motorcycles and power sports equipment, have fallen victim in front of hackers. A newly formed hacker group calling themselves "Dark Snipper" targeted several websites of Yamaha. This round of cyber attack has blown Six Yamaha websites from different countries like Bosnia HerzegovinaCroatiaMontenegroMacedoniaSloveniaSerbia. According to sources a few hackers code named 'Soul Inj3ct0r,  P4K-CoMManDeR, Error Haxor,  Dream.Killer, X3o-1337 & SOG' mainly from Pakistan took responsibility of the hack. So far the reason of the attack is not clear, but still the deface page is saying that the attack was inspired by the cause of "Free Palestine". But it is very irrelevant that, why the hacker group targeted Yamaha, as there is hardly any relation between the cause of Gaza, Palestine and Yamaha. What ever! Yamaha authority and the cyber response team immediately recovered those hacked sites by deleting the hacker's page (as shown in the picture below) and patched the security hole.

It is come to our concern that, team 'Dark Snipper' managed to get access into Yamaha server, where all those domain were hosted, and that is why it became possible for the hackers to breach all those Yamaha sites. But, Yamaha did not passed any reaction after the breach.

HostGator India Hacked & Defaced By Indian Hacker Group Named "Cyber Rog"

In the cyber space no one is secured, whether its a defense organization, govt sector, federal authorities, giant IT company or even a hosting provider. The famous line "Security is an Illusion" is quite true, and it happens to one of the giant of web hosting provider "HostGator." It was the Indian domain of HostGator which have fallen victim in front of hackers. Few Indian hackers calling them selves "Cyber Rog" breached the tight security system of HostGator, not only that, but also the hackers uploaded his deface page in order to give some message to this giant hosting provider. "Let look at your face, you get pawned man" -said  those hackers from Cyber Rog. They also vows to hit back while saying "Secure your website, next time we will be back." At the end the hacker group made a satire while camouflaging them selves while saying "We are Anonymous" followed by a funny symbol. Immediately after this massacre get spotted the HostGator team restored the site and deleted the hackers page as shown in the picture below.

But you can still view the deface page from a mirror site called "Legend-H" Such matter is deferentially shameful for company like HostGator  who had passed the 200,000 mark in registered domains in 2008 and now that number has touched 80,00,000.

Anonymous Hacked MIT Website & Left Tribute Message For Aaron Swartz

Anonymous Hacked MIT Website & Left Tribute Message For Aaron Swartz

We have just passed a few days when the shocking news of Aaron Swartz's suicide take down the entire Internet and specially the cyber world. Swartz, a political activist and computer programmer, reportedly hanged himself last week in his Brooklyn apartment as he awaited trial on 13 felony counts for downloading and publishing roughly 4 million academic journal articles from the database JSTOR. Hours after the Massachusetts Institute of Technology posted a pledge to investigate its involvement in events associated with the suicide of Aaron Swartz. But this step of MIT was not enough as the hacktivist group Anonymous taken this issue very seriously and started a campaign in which they targeted several websites of MIT. From 4 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. PT on Sunday evening, M.I.T.'s network lost access to most websites, including mit.edu, where Anonymous posted a red-lettered tribute message in Swartz's honor saying -

“Whether or not the government contributed to his suicide, the government’s prosecution of Swartz was a grotesque miscarriage of justice, a distorted and perverse shadow of the justice that Aaron died fighting for — freeing the publicly-funded scientific literature from a publishing system that makes it inaccessible to most of those who paid for it — enabling the collective betterment of the world through the facilitation of sharing — an ideal that we should all support,”

Kimberly Allen, the media relations manager at M.I.T., did not immediately respond to a call from TheWrap requesting comment.
M.I.T. President Rafael Reif asked computer science professor Hal Abelson on Sunday to "lead a thorough analysis of M.I.T.'s involvement from" in Swartz's case. According to sources The Department of Justice dropped charges against Swartz on Monday, standard policy for when a defendant dies. JSTOR, which said it settled its claims against Swartz in June 2011, said it was "saddened" to hear of his death.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to Aaron’s family, friends, and everyone who loved, knew, and admired him," it said in a post on its website. "He was a truly gifted person who made important contributions to the development of the internet and the web from which we all benefit."

Here is the full Message of Anonymous posted on MIT's website:-

"In Memoriam, Aaron Swartz, November 8, 1986 – January 11, 2013, Requiescat in pace.
A brief message from Anonymous.
Whether or not the government contributed to his suicide, the government’s prosecution of Swartz was a grotesque miscarriage of justice, a distorted and perverse shadow of the justice that Aaron died fighting for — freeing the publicly-funded scientific literature from a publishing system that makes it inaccessible to most of those who paid for it — enabling the collective betterment of the world through the facilitation of sharing — an ideal that we should all support.
Moreover, the situation Aaron found himself in highlights the injustice of U.S. computer crime laws, particularly their punishment regimes, and the highly-questionable justice of pre-trial bargaining. Aaron’s act was undoubtedly political activism; it had tragic consequences.
Our wishes
  • We call for this tragedy to be a basis for reform of computer crime laws, and the overzealous prosecutors who use them.
  • We call for this tragedy to be a basis for reform of copyright and intellectual property law, returning it to the proper principles of common good to the many, rather than private gain to the few.
  • We call for this tragedy to be a basis for greater recognition of the oppression and injustices heaped daily by certain persons and institutions of authority upon anyone who dares to stand up and be counted for their beliefs, and for greater solidarity and mutual aid in response.
  • We call for this tragedy to be a basis for a renewed and unwavering commitment to a free and unfettered internet, spared from censorship with equality of access and franchise for all.
For in the end, we will not be judged according to what we give, but according to what we keep to ourselves.
Aaron, we will sorely miss your friendship, and your help in building a better world. May you read in peace.

Guerilla Open Access Manifesto
Information is power. But like all power, there are those who want to keep it for themselves. The world’s entire scientific and cultural heritage, published over centuries in books and journals, is increasingly being digitized and locked up by a handful of private corporations. Want to read the papers featuring the most famous results of the sciences? You’ll need to send enormous amounts to publishers like Reed Elsevier.
There are those struggling to change this. The Open Access Movement has fought valiantly to ensure that scientists do not sign their copyrights away but instead ensure their work is published on the Internet, under terms that allow anyone to access it. But even under the best scenarios, their work will only apply to things published in the future. Everything up until now will have been lost.
That is too high a price to pay. Forcing academics to pay money to read the work of their colleagues? Scanning entire libraries but only allowing the folks at Google to read them? Providing scientific articles to those at elite universities in the First World, but not to children in the Global South? It’s outrageous and unacceptable.
“I agree,” many say, “but what can we do? The companies hold the copyrights, they make enormous amounts of money by charging for access, and it’s perfectly legal — there’s nothing we can do to stop them.” But there is something we can, something that’s already being done: we can fight back.
Those with access to these resources — students, librarians, scientists — you have been given a privilege. You get to feed at this banquet of knowledge while the rest of the world is locked out. But you need not — indeed, morally, you cannot — keep this privilege for yourselves. You have a duty to share it with the world. And you have: trading passwords with colleagues, filling download requests for friends.
Meanwhile, those who have been locked out are not standing idly by. You have been sneaking through holes and climbing over fences, liberating the information locked up by the publishers and sharing them with your friends.
But all of this action goes on in the dark, hidden underground. It’s called stealing or piracy, as if sharing a wealth of knowledge were the moral equivalent of plundering a ship and murdering its crew. But sharing isn’t immoral — it’s a moral imperative. Only those blinded by greed would refuse to let a friend make a copy.
Large corporations, of course, are blinded by greed. The laws under which they operate require it — their shareholders would revolt at anything less. And the politicians they have bought off back them, passing laws giving them the exclusive power to decide who can make copies.
There is no justice in following unjust laws. It’s time to come into the light and, in the grand tradition of civil disobedience, declare our opposition to this private theft of public culture.
We need to take information, wherever it is stored, make our copies and share them with the world. We need to take stuff that’s out of copyright and add it to the archive. We need to buy secret databases and put them on the Web. We need to download scientific journals and upload them to file sharing networks. We need to fight for Guerilla Open Access.
With enough of us, around the world, we’ll not just send a strong message opposing the privatization of knowledge — we’ll make it a thing of the past. Will you join us?

(Postscript: We tender apologies to the administrators at MIT for this temporary use of their websites. We understand that it is a time of soul-searching for all those within this great institution as much — perhaps for some involved even more so — than it is for the greater internet community. We do not consign blame or responsibility upon MIT for what has happened, but call for all those feel heavy-hearted in their proximity to this awful loss to acknowledge instead the responsibility they have — that we all have — to build and safeguard a future that would make Aaron proud, and honour the ideals and dedication that burnt so brightly within him by embodying them in thought and word and action..."

VOGH Reaction:- There is nothing much to say, we are speechless after what happened. Swartz suicide is surely a defeat of freedom. Last but not least VOGH team along with the whole cyber world will miss Aaron Swartz, RIP!

I am sure that all our readers will be shocked after hearing the way of intrusion. In the platform of the blog, Master Card was using an older version of WordPress (Ver. 3.3.2) which has several critical vulnerabilities like XSS, file uploading, CSRF and so on. Exploiting those loopholes the hacker managed to get access inside the blog and defaced one of the page of the giant in international financial services company's blog. Though WordPress have released a security patch and also version 3.5, but it's quite unfortunate and shocking that Master Card did not even patched their older version for which their system get penetrated. It is truly unbelievable that sites like Master Card is so careless about basic security and counter measure of cyber attack. According to sources Syrian Electronic Army used  the CSRF exploit of WordPress which is said to be available on the Internet and allows an attacker to add a new administration user. This is a possible explanation of how the Syrian Electronic Army managed to hack and deface the blog. After this incident occurs Master Card immediately updated the version of WP and closed those back doors. Still the the defaced and cached version of the  blog can be viewed on Google’s Web Cache

Google Pakistan Hacked & Defaced By Turkish Hacker

Google Pakistan Along With Microsoft  HP, HSBC, Apple, PayPal, Blogspot Hacked & Defaced By Turkish Hacker

Today was most probably the worst day in the history of Pakistan cyber space. Ten big domains of Pakistan has been stroked very badly. Many of you are guessing that it was Indian hackers who cost this damage. But in reality the attack was not generated from India, Bangladesh or such any other native countries,  but it was a Turkish hacker who have reportedly taken down the home and search page of Google Pakistan while leaving an image of two penguins walking across a bridge for million of users. I think now you got that, yes it was Google Pakistan which has been hacked and defaced by a Turkey hacker code named "KriptekS". In the deface page the hacker left several messages in Turkish language, the translation of the text, written on the website, is: "eboz. My homies in a friend always there for me. Have not shot by me with every breath." Also the hacker left a message saying "Pakistan Downed" which is indicating that the home page of Google Pakistan is indeed take down. According to deface mirror on Zone-H, the attack took place around 02:17 in the afternoon, but still, when I am writing this article, the home page of Google Pakistan is still offline.
May be you are thinking that the story is over, but no; as I told earlier it was the worst day for Pakistani cyber fence, trust me indeed it was. While talking about this dangerous cyber attack, we would like to remind you that few days ago couple of Pakistani hackers defaced several big Israeli domains including MSN, Bing, Live, Skype, Microsoft Store, BBC, CNN, Coca-Colla, XBOX, Windows, Intel, Philips, Israeli Parliament, Citi Bank and so on. Whether it is not clear that this attack on Pakistan has nay relation with that attack on Israel. But what we can say is that "KriptekS" exactly followed the same path, which Pak hackers shown the world few days ago.

Israeli Domain of MSN, Bing, Skype, Microsoft Store, BBC, CNN & Many More High Profile Israeli Sites Hacked

Israeli Domain of MSN, Bing, Skype, Microsoft Store, BBC, CNN & Many More High Profile Israeli Sites Hacked

More hackers taking part in the Israeli rampage dubbed Operation Israel. As soon as the story of bombing and air strike in Gaza get spotted on the social networks, we have seen immediate protest coming from almost every part of the world. In case of digital bombing, then it was first Anonymous who called Operation Israel, then hackers from different part of the world joined and contributed in this combined protest. So far we have seen along with Anon, Pakistani hacker Hitcher from Muslim Liberation Army, Indian hacker Godzilla, & Kosovo Hackers Security have played vital role in this rampage. But now the scenario is going from bad to worse for Israeli cyber space, as a group of Pakistani hackers hit a large number of high profile Israeli domain. Those big giants who have fallen victim in this round of cyber attack from Pakistan are MSN, Bing, Live, Skype, Microsoft Store, BBC, CNN, Coca-Colla, XBOX, Windows, Intel, Philips, Israeli Parliament, Citi Bank and few more. According to sources more than 44 million hacking attempts have been made on Israeli government web sites since Wednesday. Attempts on defense related sites have been the highest, while 10 million attempts have been made on the site of Israel's president, 7 million on the Foreign Ministry and 3 million on the site of the prime minister.

Complete List:-
pm.parliament.co.il

Both the screen shot of the deface page and Zone-H mirror is saying that four hackers from Pakistan named 1337, H4x0rL1f3, ZombiE_KsA & Invectus were behind this massive cyber attack. Though a post on popular hackers forum named Sec4ever we came to know that ZombiE_KsA denied his relation with this hack. As usual self claimed famous security news blog, The Hacker News, tried to do a publicity stunt, while morphing the original news. Chasing fake publicity and money, the ready made source of news, also known as The Hacker News forgot the importance of  the situation in Gaza.
According to the view of VOGH, it hardly matters who take part in this hack, but what matters is that, a few human stand for humanity & humanity is beyond any religion, any cast and any color. So far the world have seen an instance of cruelty and inhumane of Israeli army, where the people of Gaza have been tortured brutally. The peace loving people across the world have already stood against this relentless practice. And when Anonymous called Operation Israel, that protest became a digital bombing. We the entire VOGH team salute those people across the globe, who have actively taken part in this protest. Its our world, its our home, and all the people in it are our family, so its our foremost responsibility to take care those members and stand with them.
