Anonymous Hacker Denied Bail in Singapore, Accused For Hacking Prime Minister Website

Anonymous Hacker Denied Bail in Singapore, Accused For Hacking Prime Minister Website

A Singapore court in this week has denied bail of accused anonymous hacker charged for hacking high value government websites. Last month a Singaporean hacker named James Raj was extradited from Malaysia. He was charged for hacking the Ang Mo Kio district website, whose MPs include Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, under the banner of worlds most dangerous hacktivist community Anonymous. The alleged hacking was among a string of cyber attacks that have also targeted the websites of Premier Lee and President Tony Tan as well as pro-government media, in a row over Internet freedom in the city state. This 35 years old hacker was deeply linked with Anonymous and he was covered himself with nickname "The Messiah".  District Judge Soh Tze Bian said Raj, posed a flight risk because he previously jumped bail and fled to Malaysia after being slapped with illegal drugs consumption charges in 2011.
Police have previously said Raj was also linked to other hacking attacks, including on the website of a charity associated with the ruling People's Action Party. Two Singaporean men have so far been charged with defacing the president's website. Police have said that there are no links between Raj and these suspects.
The round of attack from Raj took place three days before a self-proclaimed spokesperson for Anonymous appeared in a video on October 31 to demand the scrapping of a recent Singapore law requiring news websites to obtain annual licences. The Internet licensing rules, which came into effect in June, have sparked anger among bloggers and activists who say they are designed to muzzle free expression. Singapore strictly regulates the traditional media, but insists the recent licensing rules do not impinge on Internet freedom.

WikiLeaks Uncovered Secret Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), Incoming Threat For Internet

WikiLeaks Uncovered Secret Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), Incoming Threat For Internet
After SOPA, PIPA & ACTA now the Internet is about to face another ferocious challenge named Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP). I am sure that many of you are unaware of this TPP, as it is still on process, but WikiLeaks have uncovered ad released secret negotiated draft text for the entire TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) which is a multilateral free-trade treaty currently being negotiated in secret by 12 Pacific Rim nations. The current TPP negotiation member states are the United States, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Chile, Singapore, Peru, Vietnam, New Zealand and Brunei. "This Trans Pacific “Partnership” is really, really bad News. #WikiLeaks" -said the twitter feed of WikiLeaks. From the leaked draft we came to know that  TPP will take time for all the corporate rigging in this lengthy document to be understood, but already it is evident that Internet freedom will be curtailed, access to health care will become more expensive and access to information will be undermined. In short the more you know about the odious Trans-Pacific Partnership, the less you’ll like it. It’s made for corporate intellectual property and profits. According to WikiLeaks official website -"The TPP is the largest-ever economic treaty, encompassing nations representing more than 40 per cent of the world’s GDP. The WikiLeaks release of the text comes ahead of the decisive TPP Chief Negotiators summit in Salt Lake City, Utah, on 19-24 November 2013. The chapter published by WikiLeaks is perhaps the most controversial chapter of the TPP due to its wide-ranging effects on medicines, publishers, internet services, civil liberties and biological patents. Significantly, the released text includes the negotiation positions and disagreements between all 12 prospective member states."

In the words of WikiLeaks’ Editor-in-Chief Julian Assange, “If instituted, the TPP’s IP regime would trample over individual rights and free expression, as well as ride roughshod over the intellectual and creative commons. If you read, write, publish, think, listen, dance, sing or invent; if you farm or consume food; if you’re ill now or might one day be ill, the TPP has you in its crosshairs.” To download the entire TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) draft click here

While talking about Jullian Assange and WikiLeaksand this sensational leak of TPP, I would like to give you reminder that in this year we got several leaks from WikiLeaks, among them -'Detainee Policies' containing more than 100 classified or otherwise restricted files from the United States Department of Defense covering the rules and procedures for detainees in U.S. military custody. SpyFilesGI Files (Global Intelligence Files & Five Million E-mails From Stratfor) & The Syria Files Containing 2.5 Million Emails of Syrian Politicians, Govt, Ministries & Companies.

In order to get his code to execute on the test system at the time, he had to combine a total of six vulnerabilities; the holes were later closed with the release of Chrome 18. Along with security specialist Sergey Glazunov, Pinkie Pie also won this year's Pwnie Award for the Best Client-Side Bug. Google Announced 'Pwnium 2' & Increased Prize Money $2m To Exploit Chrome

Google Announced 'Pwnium 2' & Increased Prize Money $2m To Exploit Chrome

Few days ago we got the result of Microsoft hosted Blue Hat Security contest, where Microsoft awarded a bunch of hackers and gave away an amount of  $260,000. Immediately after this event, Internet giant Google   has upped the ante in its industry-leading cash-for-security-bugs program with hefty bonuses and a hacking contest that will award up to $2 million worth of prizes to people who successfully exploit its Chrome browser. In the official Chromium blog, Google has announced the plan for Pwnium 2. According to a blog post by Chris Evans, Software Engineer at Google- Pwnium 2 will be held on Oct 10th, 2012 at the Hack In The Box 10 year anniversary conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This time, Google be sponsoring up to $2 million worth of rewards at the following reward levels:
  • $60,000: “Full Chrome exploit”: Chrome / Win7 local OS user account persistence using only bugs in Chrome itself.
  • $50,000: “Partial Chrome exploit”: Chrome / Win7 local OS user account persistence using at least one bug in Chrome itself, plus other bugs. For example, a WebKit bug combined with a Windows kernel bug.
  • $40,000: “Non-Chrome exploit”: Flash / Windows / other. Chrome / Win7 local OS user account persistence that does not use bugs in Chrome. For example, bugs in one or more of Flash, Windows or a driver.
  • $Panel decision: “Incomplete exploit”: An exploit that is not reliable, or an incomplete exploit chain. For example, code execution inside the sandbox but no sandbox escape; or a working sandbox escape in isolation. For Pwnium 2, we want to reward people who get “part way” as we could definitely learn from this work. Our rewards panel will judge any such works as generously as we can.
Exploits should be demonstrated against the latest stable version of Chrome. Chrome and the underlying operating system and drivers will be fully patched and running on an Acer Aspire V5-571-6869 laptop (which we’ll be giving away to the best entry.) Exploits should be served from a password-authenticated and HTTPS Google property, such as App Engine. The bugs used must be novel i.e. not known to us or fixed on trunk. Please document the exploit.
We also like to give you reminder that earlier in this year Google had increased vulnerability bounties in Anniversary of Vulnerability Reward Programbe. Also PayPal, Facebook & many other has already started this paid bug bounty program.

UltrasMalaya.net (Malaysian football website) Hacked

A Singaporean has hacked into Malaysian football website UltrasMalaya.net in retaliation for Malaysian netizens flaming Singaporeans after their national team's loss to the Republic in recent World Cup qualifying rounds. According to online sources, a hacker who called himself GPT InDuStRiEs claimed responsibility for his actions and wrote:
"UltrasMalaya.net hacked for having fans which constantly flame, hack and deface Singaporeans due to the recent Malaysia VS Singapore match. "Checkmate, oh my!"
A check by AsiaOne revealed that the UltrasMalaya.net website requires a user name and password to access.
Previously, Malaysian football fans had hacked into a Singapore website on July 31 and put a picture of Malaysia's national striker, Mohd Safee Mohd Sali, in the centre of the homepage. The hackers said they hacked into the website as they were angry at Singapore fans for being "so rude" when Malaysia lost to Singapore. The hackers also accused Singapore's Lions of "cheating" and "acting", and that they won because of their foreign players.
Singapore and Malaysia met twice in the qualifying round for World Cup 2014. Singapore eventually beat their rivals and progressed on to the next stage of qualifiers.

Anonymous stated #op-Malaysia & 51 GOV site Hacked

Malaysia's Communications and Multimedia Commission said that 51 websites in the .gov.my domain were attacked beginning late Wednesday, and that 41 of the sites suffered various levels of disruption. The MCMC, the country's Internet and telecommunications regulator, did not however provide information on the nature of the attacks, or the people behind it, describing them only as "unknown hackers". DDoS attacks can make a website inaccessible to users by swamping the website with traffic from hundreds or thousands of computers.
Such attacks are a known tactic of Anonymous, a hacker group that had threatened to attack Malaysia. However, it made references to some of the websites recovering quickly, suggesting that these sites faced a DDoS or distributed denial-of-service attack rather than a hack. The MCMC had noticed a reduction in the levels of attack by 4 a.m. local time Thursday, it said. The attacks had little effect on Malaysian users, and most of the websites have already recovered, it said. "We do not expect the overall recovery to these websites to take long," it said. "The public is advised to report any information they may have regarding the identity of these hackers as the act to disrupt network services is a serious offence," it said.
Anonymous has used various online forums to threaten Malaysia with an attack in protest against the government's decision to block 10 websites that reportedly allowed the download of pirated content. Earlier this week, Anonymous invited people to join Operation Malaysia, targeting a government website from 7.30 p.m. GMT on Wednesday (3.30 a.m. Thursday, local time).
